PANTERA – PROUD TO BE LOUD

pantera2

Happy Wednesday and Happy September Metalheads. Hope you’re all having a great week so far. recently I was watching videos on a channel on my Roku player called “Metal Mania” and came across a video from Pantera during their early “glam” days. Since I wasn’t really much of a fan of theirs back then, I figured let’s go back in time today to 1988 to their fourth album, the first with singer Phil Anselmo called “Power Metal” for the track “Proud to be Loud.”

The album released on Metal Magic Records has more of a thrash sound to it than their earlier releases and includes the track, “Proud to be Loud” which was produced by Keel guitarist, Marc Ferrari. The album itself was produced by Jerry Abbott, Dimebag Darrell and Vinny Paul’s father.  Jerry who is also a country music songwriter and producer had worked on the production of some of Pantera’s earlier albums early in their career.
