One step closer to #1 but first let’s take a look at #2:

Dave Lombardo, Jeff Hanneman, Kerry King, and Tom Araya

Formed in 1981, Slayer is one of the greatest thrash bands to come on the scene. Slayer have released 12 studio albums, including selling over 5 million albums in the US and winning a grammy in 2007 for “Eyes of the Insane” and one in 2008 for “The Final Six” both from their Christ Illusion album.

Slayer has been credited with being very influential in the death and black metal genres  and their 1986 album “Reign in Blood” is considered to have set the bar for death metal. Slayer has come under controversy for the topics of their songs which include murder, Satanism, war  and terrorism to name a few.

The band which has gone through several lineup changes including the unexpected death of guitarist Jeff Hanneman in 2013, announced their farewell tour currently in North America with Lamb of God, Anthrax., Napalm Death and Testament. The band which includes original members Tom Araya and Kerry King is rounded out by drummer Paul Bostaph and guitarist Gary Holt, who does double duty in both Slayer and Exodus.
