Happy Wednesday Metalheads! To continue with our Power Metal Mania month, today we’re going back to 2005 to the second album by Demons and Wizards called “Touched by the Crimson King.”
The band which started as a side project, was conceived in 1998 by Iced Earth guitarist Jon Schaffer and Blind Guardian vocalist Hansi Kursch with Schaffer writing the music and Kursch the lyrics. The album which is partially based on “The Dark Tower” series by Stephen King uses the Crimson King as a reference to the antagonist in the Dark Tower story.
The band which currently has two albums in their catalog, the self titled Demons and Wizards and Touched by the Crimson King, are working on new material for their next album and will be playing at the Wacken Open Air Festival, Hellfest and ProgPower USA in the summer of 2019.
