MEGADETH – ALICE COOPER – NO MORE MR. NICEGUY – METAL REWIND

Happy Friday Metalheads! Today we take a trip back to 1989 to the movie “Shocker” for the track “No More Mr. Niceguy” by Megadeth, as well as the original by Alice Cooper released in 1973.

The original track by the Alice Cooper Band originally appeared on the band’s sixth album “Billion Dollar Babies.” In the song Cooper details the reactions of his mother’s church group about Cooper’s stage performances.  Cooper felt that if they wanted to complain, well then the gloves were off and he was ready.

Megadeth covered the song for the “Shocker” movie soundtrack and released it as a single in January 1990 and the track did really well on the music charts in Ireland, Finland and the U.K. The video for the song features new band members at that time, Marty Friedman and Nick Menza, who had been chosen to join the Megadeth fold after the departures of drummer Chuck Behler and guitarist Jeff Young. The song was also included on their 1995 B-side album called “Hidden Treasures.”
