The song(s) is based on the actions of a serial killer and the different methods they choose to use on their victims. Dave Mustaine has stated in interviews that the song was inspired by former drummer Dijon Carruthers, who was in the band briefly before Gar Samuelson was hired. Carruthers at the time was hanging out with people who were practicing the occult and many of the tracks on this album explore the theme of occultism.
